I come alongside churches, teams, and leaders—bringing a story-shaped, trauma-informed lens to the work of leading well, navigating conflict, and building a culture of genuine care.
The same story-work that heals individuals can transform how a community leads, fights, and cares for one another.
Ministry is hard, and the people who carry it often carry the most while being tended the least. I work with churches and leaders to bring honesty, health, and a deeper understanding of story into the rooms where decisions are made and wounds are formed.
Whether you're walking through a painful season of conflict or simply want to lead from a healthier place, the work begins the same way: slow down, tell the truth, and understand what's really happening underneath.
"Conflict, in a church as much as a marriage, is rarely the real problem. Disconnection is."
— Mike Boland
Conflict is one of the most common—and most isolating—realities of church life. Left unaddressed, it fractures elder boards, exhausts staff, and quietly drives people away. But handled with wisdom, it can become a turning point toward deeper trust and health.
I help leadership teams slow conflict down enough to understand it: the patterns underneath the presenting issue, the histories people bring into the room, and the fears and longings driving the impasse. From there, we find a way forward that protects relationships rather than sacrificing them.
Teaching that helps leaders and communities understand trauma, story, and care—so they can offer it to one another.
Equipping leaders and lay teams in the foundations of narrative-focused care—how to engage a person's story with skill, safety, and compassion.
On-site training for church staff and ministry teams—trauma-informed care, healthy conflict, and leading from a sustainable cadence.
Guided retreats for elder boards and leadership teams—building trust, tending the people behind the roles, and aligning around health.
Speaking and teaching for church retreats and men's retreats—story, formation, and the courage to be honest about our lives.
When leaders learn to read story—their own and each other's—everything about how they lead together begins to change.
Tell me what you're navigating or what you'd like to build, and we'll find the right way to work together.
