The rhythm of rest and calling

Steady work,
gently expanded.

Pastoral counseling, narrative trauma care, and intensives — soul-deep story work at the intersection of faith and mental health, held at a pace that can be sustained.

Counseling

Honest, unhurried work on the story you're living.

Intensives

Focused, guided deep-dives over a day or two.

Consulting

Teaching, training, and counsel for teams and leaders.

What I offer

Four ways to do the deep work

Each one moves at a sustainable pace — listening first, then naming the rhythm, then practicing it together.

01

Counseling & Coaching

Ongoing pastoral and narrative care for the story you're living — soul-deep, faith-rooted, and trauma-informed. (Not a substitute for licensed clinical therapy.)

The approach

Growth happens in a healthy cadence

We're shaped by a rhythm of input and output — seasons of rest that form us, and seasons of calling that stretch us. Most of us have fallen out of step with one or the other.

Rest · Input

What restores

Stillness, reflection, honest conversation. The story examined slowly, not rushed toward a fix.

Calling · Output

What's built

Work that stretches and grows — offered from a full place, then allowed to settle again.

Portrait of Mike
About

I'm Mike — a counselor working where theology, story, and mental health meet.

For over a decade I've sat with people in the hard, holy work of understanding their own stories. My background bridges clinical counseling and theological training, and I've come to believe that lasting growth follows a rhythm — a cadence of rest and calling that can actually be sustained.

Whether across a weekly hour, a focused intensive, or a training room, the work is the same: listen well, tell the truth, and move at a pace that heals rather than depletes.
